A New PALMARUM Hymn - - -

The reason that so many of my hymn lyrics are set to the Old Hundredth is that it is the only tune that I can (sort of, kind of, sidways) sing on key.

This is for our upcoming Last Sunday of Lententide.

CAME CHRIST THE LORD to DAVID’S HOME

Words: Jay W. Watson
Tune: Old Hundredth

Came Christ the Lord to David’s home
Came God for sinners to atone
True Lamb Paschal on Calv’ry slain
Our Savior’s Throne and Holy reign

He did the meek young donkey bore
He rode on vestments strewn before
Hear Him receive the peoples laud
Our Jesus Christ the pierced God

Sing praise to this pure servant Son
Sing for His vict’ry to be done
Seek Him amongst His pilgrim throng
Greet rabbi king with joyous song

All palms laud Him this sacred day
All saints in Supper feed we pray
Praise Father Son and Spirit be
Hosanna to the One in Three
