Facebook is all a twitter J with clever (by half) “confessional” wags and “cards” popping off about the latest
news from the Vatican.
Of all the anti-Christs that I’ve seen
during my lifetime, Pope Benedict XVI is one that I respect the most. Notwithstanding his error and anti-Christian
affirmation of Trent, he has been indefatigable in his defense of the unborn as
well as a proponent of peace and the “just
war theory” that Lutherans would do well to study and digest. He has also done his best in the Roman
communion to stem the tide of rabid feminism and the satanic, heretical
drive/push to ordain women as priests. Where
I have been able to commend him I have done so.
Into the gap the Romanists now proceed. I hope for the sake of world-wide Christianity
that the next pontiff will be at least a “traditionalist”
and not a proponent of Vatican II’s liberalizations in worship and
ecclesiology. We can deal forthrightly
and honestly with an opponent who openly anathematizes us and puts “his cards on the table.” To fight the smoke and mirrors of modernists
and liberals is always more dangerous and tricky.
The Church of the Augustana (the Unaltered
Augsburg Confession of 1530 and the Book of Concord of 1580) has no fellowship
with Rome, but nonetheless should wish the future leader of world-wide Romanism
to be as pro-life as has been Benedict.
All the while we will continue to pray for a
truly evangelical conversion of said Pope, and that he and his flock might
truly find life in the world to come as well as preserving life in this veil of
tears.
Kudos to the pontiff for his pro-life, just war stances----courageous guy, though we'd all like to see the next Pope enlightened to Luther's views.....THAT would be courageous....
