Off with their heads, or at least with their "Beautiful Savior" ... which hymn, Fr. Will has reminded us recently in this month of July (2014), over at "Weedon's Blog," was originally composed with the intent of promoting Eucharistic adoration. The hymn is found in Christian Worship as number 369 (WARNING: papist on board) ... which may be its saving grace, especially as the largely disappointing tome treats the Invocation, for iconic example, as but some sort of "greeting" (cf. bottom of page 27) . Apparently it is a dumbed-down, opening-line stratagem, devised by those erstwhile, numbers-anxious Lutherans of Wisconsin to get the babes into their pews. Although in truth, that blonde screaming her head off sure looks pretty good.Your (unworthy) servant,Herr Doktor
:D LOL (as the kids say these days......hey! get OFF MY YARD)Dr. A.... you must change your mind and relent of your NSA-phobia (they've already got a file on you the size of the NYC phonebook)...and JOIN FACEBOOK...then you can have jovial conversations with me and the other SSPers all the time. Oh, wait, unlike me, you actually work for a living....oh yeah :D
Jacking up my verbosities at the Society of St. Polycarp's website ... at your behest, dear Father, is one thing ... but Facebook is like taking on a Tolkien dragon, or maybe even worse, i.e., Papa Smurf. Are we not to avoid an active pursuit of martyrdom? Or at least the Roman armies? And speaking of imperialism and its lackeys, the NSA can go to hell. Which should not be problematical. Situated close to the Beltway, it's already got the near-Death experience.
A firm Jn. 19.22 response...as I anticipated ...ah well, Herr Doktor, your posts and comments are cyber gold wherever they can be found :D
